The Performance of Shares and Bonds in Switzerland (1926-2010) – January 2011

In January 1988, Pictet published a long-term study comparing the performance of Swiss shares and CHF-bonds since end-1925. The original study is now updated every year.

The conclusion of this study is clear: over a long period of time, equities largely outperform bonds, at the price of a higher volatility.
